The AMD Ryzen 7 CPUs have somewhat conquered the gaming and production line with it’s performance to price ratio. But there is another good news- The AMD Ryzen 5 budget friendly CPUs starting from $169 to $249.
The top end R5 1600X has 6 cores, 12 threads with a base clock of 3.6GHz and a turbo of 4.0GHz pricing $249. The next is a $219 1600 having the same core and thread numbers but is clocked at 3.2GHz and boosts upto 3.6GHz. The 4 core and 8 thread CPUs are the 1400 at $169 and the 1500X at $189. The 1400 is clocked at 3.2GHz and boost of 3.4GHz and the 1500x is at 3.5GHz boosting up to 3.7GHz.
The top end $249 1600X is head to head with Intel’s Kaby Lake i5-7600K and the $169 competing with i3-7350K.
The CPUs will be released to consumers on 11th of April. Surely AMD is picking up the race with Intel.
AMD announced it’s new desktop processor family-AMD Ryzen, a chip to compete head to head with Intel finally. The last generation processors performed below expectations. To regain the trust of the consumers the Ryzen promises a 52 percent boost in instructions per cycle than predecessor levelling with the Intel’s Best processors.
The Ryzen lineup has different processors Ryzen 7 being the top of the line. Ryzen 7 has 8 cores and 16 threads. The top end 1800X has specs of 3.6 GHz with 4.0GHz turbo which is on par with the intel’s i7-6900K. The Ryzen 1800X is priced at $499 which is half the price of 6900K. Benchmarking results places the truth that single thread performance is similar whereas Ryzen beats Intel in Multi thread performance.
The other processors are R7 1700X with a base of 3.4GHz and a boost of 3.8GHz priced at $399 competing with i7 6800K and R7 1700 with a clock of 3.0GHz and 3.7GHz boost selling for $329 giving fight to the i7-7700K.
The new processors of AMD are surely to give a tough fight to the Intel CPU as Intel didn’t offer much improvement in this year’s Kabylake release. Also the Ryzen CPUs are priced much lower than the Intel CPUs giving much better performance. AMD is also set to release it’s new Vega architecture late this year which looks promising.
The processors are ready to pre order.
This year is all about AMD’s efforts to regain it’s glory and give tough fight to it’s competitors.
